Amos Supportive Helping Association (ASHA) is a 501©(3) nonprofit organization committed to serving low-income and economically disadvantaged individuals and families of all races and ethnicities in Colorado who are facing persistent mental health and substance abuse challenges.
Our Mission: ASHA strives to create healthy environments by empowering individuals and families to enhance their life skills and foster safe, stable, and sober living conditions.
Our History: Founded in 2018 by Dr. Martha Amos & Jamie Eckert, ASHA was established to support individuals in transforming the environments that contributed to their illnesses. ASHA and our sister company Amos Counseling is a family-run organization, reflecting our deep commitment to community and personal connection.
Our Leadership: The ASHA board of directors comprises four members who bring diverse talents and perspectives, including expertise in recovery and substance addiction, and insights into the impact of substance use on families and youth.

Executive Director & Co-Founder
Jamie Eckert
Jamie is the Executive Director and co-founder of Amos Supportive Helping Association (ASHA), a passion project she started with Dr. Martha Amos. Jamie has been dedicated to helping individuals overcome addiction and mental health challenges since 2011. She holds a two-year marketing certificate, which she used to assist in opening and running Amos Counseling.
Jamie is certified in various therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Addictions Counseling, and Moral Reconation Therapy. Her passion for community service and providing essential resources has been instrumental in turning lives around. Jamie’s commitment to empowering others and her extensive background in therapy continue to inspire and lead efforts to create safe, stable, and supportive environments for those in need.

Clinical Therapies Director & Co-Founder
Martha Amos
Dr. Martha Amos is the owner and Clinical Director of Amos Counseling, which she founded in 2012 to help individuals overcome addiction and mental health challenges. With a Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology, Dr. Amos is both a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC). Her journey in the field began in 2008 as a correctional officer at Community Corrections in Grand Junction, Colorado, where she worked with individuals involved in the criminal justice system.
Driven by a desire to provide more comprehensive support, Dr. Amos opened her private practice to address the needs of the community and those transitioning from incarceration to outpatient therapy. In 2014, she expanded her efforts by working as a Mental Health Supervisor at Mesa County Detention Facility, offering one-on-one therapy to incarcerated individuals to prepare them for successful reintegration.
Today, Dr. Amos continues to run her private practice while ensuring that Amos Supportive Helping Association provides the necessary therapeutic skills and support within its facilities. Her unwavering commitment to her community and her compassionate approach have been instrumental in transforming lives and creating safe, stable, and nurturing environments for those in need.
